How to choose your first earring

Earrings for men come down to three shapes. The stud is the most discreet: our men's stud earrings are flat, polished discs in 9, 10 or 12 mm that sit flush on the lobe. The huggie hoop is the classic: the men's hoop earrings close on a hinge into a compact 9 mm hoop with a 4 mm band, visible but never swinging. The dangle brings movement: the cross earrings for men hang a small cross from a mini hoop, and the feather dangle earrings add a light, slightly bohemian touch. One ear or both?

A single earring on one side gives a relaxed, slightly rock look; a pair looks more balanced and polished. There is no rule about which ear: choose the side people see most, or the one your hair leaves clear. With short hair or a fade, a hoop shows clearly; with longer hair it appears only when you move. If you have two piercings, mix shapes on the same ear, such as a stud above a cross. Every style is sold as a pair, so you can also wear one and keep the other in reserve.

Gold, silver or black
