Men's Chains
Cuban, figaro, rope and mariner links in gold and silver tones, made for daily wear.
A good mens chain is the simplest way to add character to a plain T-shirt or an open collar. Our selection covers the classic links, from cuban and figaro to rope, mariner and coffee bean, in gold-tone and silver-tone stainless steel.
Wear one alone for a clean look, or pair it with a pendant. Solid everyday gold chains for men and silver alternatives, built to be worn rather than saved for special occasions.

Which chain link to choose?
The link defines the whole look. The cuban link chain is the most recognizable: rounded, interlocking links that lie flat and feel substantial. The figaro chain alternates short and long links for a more rhythmic, slightly Italian style. A rope chain twists its links together so it catches light from every angle, while the mariner chain, with its bar across each link, has a nautical, more structured feel. For something less expected, the coffee bean chain uses oval links split down the middle. Our guide to the types of chains compares each link.
Width and length: getting the proportions right
Width changes the attitude of a chain. Thinner chains (around 2 to 3 mm) stay discreet and are ideal under a shirt or with a pendant; wider chains (5 mm and up) are meant to be seen and work best worn alone. For length, 20 inches usually sits at the collarbone on most men, 22 inches falls just below it and is the easiest everyday length, and 24 inches drops onto the chest, which is perfect for layering or carrying a heavier pendant. Check each product page for the widths and lengths available. Our necklace length chart shows where each length falls.
Gold chain or silver chain?
A gold chain on men reads warmer and bolder, especially against tanned skin or dark clothing; a silver chain is cooler and more understated, and pairs easily with a steel watch. Match your chain to the metal of your watch, ring or bracelet if you wear one. Our chains are gold-tone or silver-tone stainless steel, a sturdy material for everyday wear. Our men's necklaces collection also has pendants that fit these chains.
How to wear and care for your chain
For layering, combine two chains of different lengths and links, for example a fine figaro with a slightly longer rope chain, keeping at least an inch between them so they don't tangle. Take your chain off before the gym, a swim or sleep, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wear to remove sweat and skin oils. Store it straight or hanging. Our guide on how to clean gold jewelry explains a gentle cleaning routine for gold-tone pieces.
