How to measure

  1. Wrap a strip of paper or string around the base of your finger.
  2. Mark where it overlaps and measure the length in mm: that is your circumference.
  3. Or measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits you.
  4. Between two sizes, take the larger one, especially for wide bands.

Description

This lion ring takes the classic signet and gives it a face: a detailed lion head in relief, framed by an octagonal plate in stainless steel. The mane is finely worked and set against a darker textured ground, so the head stands out clearly from a distance.

It's a ring with character, the kind that starts a conversation. Choose the steel version for a raw, vintage feel, or the gold color for a warmer, more regal look. The lion has long stood for courage and leadership, which is why it remains one of the most popular emblems on signet rings.

How to wear it

Traditionally, a signet ring is worn on the little finger of the non-writing hand; on the ring finger or index, the lion ring becomes more of a statement. Keep the rest of the hand light, a plain band at most, so the lion head stays the focal point. It looks at home with a leather jacket, a denim shirt or a dark knit, and adds an unexpected edge to a suit. For a different crest, compare it with our onyx signet ring or the cleaner oval signet ring.

Care

The relief of the lion collects dust over time: clean it with a soft toothbrush and lukewarm soapy water, rinse, and dry carefully, especially in the recesses. Take the ring off for heavy lifting or manual work to protect the details. For more tips, read our guide on how to clean gold jewelry.

Finding your size

A signet ring with a wide face fits slightly snugger than a thin band. Measure your finger with our ring size chart at the end of the day, and choose the larger size if you are in between.

Questions

Good to know

Materials, sizes, shipping and returns: the answers to what you ask us most.

Which finger is the signet worn on?
Traditionally the little finger of the non-writing hand. Today many men wear it on the ring finger or the index for a stronger look.
What's the difference between the two colors?
The silver version shows the natural steel with a darker background; the gold version gives a warmer, more striking finish.
Can women wear it too?
Yes. It is cut for men, but many women wear it on the index or thumb as a bold piece.
